Good Afternoon, Wrestling Parents!

Booster membership fees are $30/family (made payable to: “AHS Wrestling Boosters”) & can be paid at the High School’s Athletic Office or directly to me.  Please contact Tiffany Scott to coordinate the payment drop-off, if necessary.  Also, ALL monetary donations that you wish to make can be made the same ways, as well---ANY amount that you can donate will be greatly appreciated!!!

Good Afternoon, Wrestling Parents!

The banquet will be held at 6pm on Thursday, February 19th in the AHS Cafeteria.  All wrestlers will eat FREE & the cost for everyone else will be $9 per person.  We anticipate a crowd of 100-125 HUNGRY athletes, family, fans, & friends.  The requested menu will be the same as last year’s (ie. fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, macaroni & cheese, collard greens, green beans, candied yams, cornbread, rolls, & drink, of course---BUT…instead of the Publix cakes, cheesecakes & blue velvet cake was requested this year)  I have contacted the caterer from last year, & if you’re interested making  a donation (food &/or monetary---& I remind you that all monetary donations are tax-deductible) to help offset the costs of the banquet, interested in helping with the decorations, interested in assisting with food pick-up, etc., in preparation for the banquet, please contact me as soon as possible.

Also, I would like for ALL booster members that have paid their annual membership fees to hang around until the end of the banquet so that we may hold elections for next season’s booster officers, etc.---this matter of business should take no longer than about 20 minutes of your time.  Thanks & have a great day!!!

Good Morning, Wrestling Parents!

You all should have received your Domino’s cards that were ordered, BUT since we did not reach our goal, Platinum Fundraising is been very gracious to us & is extending our fundraiser to allow us to meet our goal.  Therefore, if you have people still asking about ordering cards, as I have, you are allowed to continue taking orders & money. They have agreed to allow me to send in orders, as necessary, until our goal is reached & they will just continue to add the orders that I send in to our totals until we reach our goal. You may use the same order form as earlier (which I’ve attached, in case you no longer have it) & I’ll take up all orders & money received during the home matches against Stanhope Elmore High School on Tuesday, January 13, 2015.  Thanks, Have a Safe & Merry Christmas, & a Happy New Year!!!

The Varsity's annual "Swede Umbach Tournament" is today & tomorrow in the NEW gym. (Please see details below for reminders of when & where you volunteered to work & what food donations you told me you would make.) *We provide supper this evening, as well as, breakfast & lunch on tomorrow (all meals include drinks, snack items, & desserts, as well).  Tonight’s supper will be served during the Coaches meeting at around 4pm. Tomorrow’s breakfast will be served during the Coaches meeting at around 7:15 or 7:30am & Tomorrow’s lunch kicks off between 10:30 & 11am.  We ask that you send all HOT food items in a Crock Pot or aluminum pan (for a warmer rack/chafing dish) --- labeled with your name, of course so we’ll know who to return it to at the end of the day.  All HOT supper items for TODAY need to be sent in no later than 4pm.  All HOT breakfast items for tomorrow need to be sent in no later than 7am & all HOT lunch items for tomorrow need to be sent in no later than 10am.  Non-perishable items can be sent in to me or Tommy this evening (between 2:30-6pm).  All COLD food items for today’s supper, drinks, condiments, snack items, & desserts need to be delivered to me TODAY (between 2-4pm).  All COLD food items for tomorrow should be delivered to me on tomorrow (before 7am for breakfast items; & before 10am for lunch items).  We ask that you bring any “go alongs” with your main dish item (ie. if you bring a pot of chili, please bring some cornbread, crackers, shredded cheese---whatever you prefer, also or if you bring spaghetti, bring some rolls, bread---whatever you want, as well).

We have warmer pans, a few warmer racks, Sterno, salt & pepper, coffee, paper goods, utensils, & plastic ware, already.  We just need ALL food, condiments, & drink items donated.

Good Morning, Wrestling Parents!!!

A few updates & reminders for this weekend & upcoming week’s events: 
- ALL Tractor Tire Flip-A-Thon money should be turned in to the coaches by the end of practice TODAY.
- ALL remaining Domino’s order forms & money must be turned in to our Booster Secretary, Beverly Adams (James Robert’s mother), at the end of JH practice TODAY.  (She will be at the wrestling gym from 5:30pm until the end of practice--6pm.)
- Please make sure to pay wrestling fees (or your payments towards them, if prior arrangements have already been made with Coach) ASAP, as the coaches have begun to (& are required to) hold wrestlers out of event participation if their fees are not paid.
- V will travel to Ooltewah, TN this evening to wrestle in the “Ooltewah Invitational” tournament, beginning at 9am EST tomorrow morning---so we wish them safe travels & much success.  The Youth wrestlers will be at Spain Park HS on Saturday competing in the Battle for the Belt Tournament.

GO TIGERS!!!

JH & V will host wrestling matches at home against St. James High School on Tuesday, December 9th.  Youth Wrestlers will host KageFit Youth.  Gates will open @ 4:45pm, with wrestling starting @ 6pm.
- There will be a Wrestling Booster meeting in the wrestling gym, towards the end of practices, on Monday, December 8th @ 5:30 pm. Anyone interested in joining the wrestling boosters is welcome to attend.  I’m aware that there are several school performances, concerts, etc. going on at this time, so if you’re interested & unable to make the meeting, please contact me to let me know & I’ll touch bases with you on what’s going on at a later time---but DEFINITELY before the Swede begins on Friday night.
- The annual V Swede Tourney is next Friday (December 12th) & Saturday (December 15th) in the NEW gym & we NEED your help!!!  J  *(Look for details later today or tomorrow for food donation information.)

Some of you mentioned to my husband last night that your son did not receive a Domino's order sheet so I'm forwarding the email (with the form attachment) that I sent out prior to handing hard copies out at practice.  I will extend the deadline until Friday evening & I'll take them up at the end of practice with the money.  If you turned your son's form in to my husband & would like it back until Friday evening, please see me at tonight's wrestling match or contact me on my cell phone (334-524-9721) after 2pm today to make arrangements to pick you son's sheet up from me.  Thanks again & have a wonderful day!!!  :)

Good Afternoon, Wrestling Parents!!!

Your wrestlers were given Domino’s “Slice-The-Price” card order forms, which will be turned in with ALL money to my husband, Tommy Dumas, at the end of practice today.  You should receive the actual cards from me in less than two & a half weeks, so that you may distribute them back to your purchasers. Also, do not forget to turn in your “Tractor Tire Flip-A-thon” money to Coach Tucker or Coach Eckhardt this week. Finally, please continue to seek Sponorships to support our program as this helps us feed the wrestlers, help assist with their travel expenses, help assist with the purchase of much needed wrestling equipment, etc.

We will travel to Central High School in Phenix City on tomorrow; host Tallassee High School at home on Thursday, December 4th; host our Annual Varsity Swede Umbach Tournament on Friday, December 12th & Saturday, December 13th at home (I have attached a flier for this, also, so that you may share with family, fans, & friends); & MS & JH will travel to St. Anne’s Pacelli Catholic High in Columbus, Georgia for a tournament on the same Saturday (Dec. 13th).

Therefore, with all of this coming up, I will be contacting you for volunteers to make PB&J’s, work the ticket booth & Concessions for the Tallassee match, work the ticket booth, concessions, & Hospitality for the Swede tourney, & donate food items for the Swede tourney.  If you know you will be travelling to Columbus with the MS & JH, PLEASE try to send in  food donations---since we know you will be unable to volunteer to work the Swede tourney, as you’re travelling.  If you’re contacted to make PB&J’s, I will furnish you with bread, PB, J,  sandwich bags, & a box on the day before so you can return the sandwiches on the next day for the matches.

Thanks you to all of you for donating, volunteering, & supporting the wrestlers in our Junior High Swede Tournament & other matches since!!!  The success of this program would not be possible without fans, family, parents, & friends like you!!!  J  Our MS & JH will travel to Thompson today & our JV & V will travel in the morning to Hewitt-Trussville for a big tournament --- so be sure to cheer them ALL on!!!

Attached below, is a shirt vendor flyer that will help promote attendance at the Varsity Swede Umbach Wrestling Tournament on next Saturday. Eagle Sportz is scheduled to print on site again for this tournament.
